Club Competitions

The club has seven Mens and seven Ladies tennis teams entered into the Surrey League. We also have Mens and Ladies teams in the National League and teams in the Southwark midweek and daytime leagues. Matches are played throughout the year both at home and away.

A yearly club tournament is open to all members and offers Singles, Doubles and Mixed doubles events. The tournament commences in May and culminates with a finals day in the middle of July. If you wish to enter an entry form can be obtained from the club house during May.

Club Suppers

About once a month on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening we have a club supper in the clubhouse. This gives everyone a chance to socialise with other members over food and drinks. The meal is cooked by volunteers (contact Grace Chorley if you would like to volunteer). Normally supper is served at 8pm and the cost is £7 a head.

9am - 10.30 am: Junior Club Session

10.30am - 1.30pm: Courts bookable
[See booking sheet on notice board. This goes up three weeks at a time. Timing of new sheet clearly stated. Please note matches take priority.]

1.30pm: Club Session
All members welcome, and all standards. Members are expected to mix in after one set.

5.30pm - 7pm: Teenagers Club Session

Sunday

9am - 1.30pm: Courts bookable (as above)
Please note: Matches take priority

1.30pm - 5pm: Team Members Club Session

5pm: All courts free to all members for casual games.

Tuesday and Wednesday evenings

There are two organised sessions from 7pm to 8.30pm, and from 8.30pm to 10pm If you're interested in playing in these sessions, please contact Kerstin.

At all other times courts are free for casual games.

Court Booking

Floodlight Booking: There is limited availability for members to book courts on week nights. Please see booking sheet on notice board.

Floodlights: Tokens are used to pay for the lights. The meters are located in the lobby of the old Squash pavilion. The price remains the same at £3 per half hour. Tokens are sold at the bar. We would like to encourage players to make good use of the courts throughout the winter. Saturday and Sunday evenings the courts are rarely used so why not fix a four before going out partying?

Waiting time (daylight) for a court is limited to one hour at peak time if all other courts are in use for friendly games.

Guests are welcome at Dulwich - but a guest fee must be paid to any committee member or to Noreen at the bar. Guest fees are £3.

Dress

Members are reminded that only recognised sportswear is acceptable on court - predominantly white is preferred.

Dulwich Sports Club polo shirts and sweatshirts are for sale from Noreen at the bar. They are available in white and other colours and cost £12 and £15 each respectively.

Catherine Mitchell is selling Tennis Club t-shirts (designed by Rebecca Guyett). They cost £10 and come in a variety of different styles and colours.
